Config for older version of phones and mobile devices
updated 2010-07-05
NOTE: for never versions you should always use the configurators on cat.eduroam.org
First get your EDUROAM (WPA) network secret at:
https://login.sys.kth.se/peap.html
Remember to use user@kth.se as login for eduroam.
iPhone/iPod touch/iPad - works very well (from v3), Just choose eduroam in networks. You might have to answer ok to trust the certificate. In case of problems try to download this config
Android Phones - HTC, Samsung, Sony-Ericsson(from v2.1 to 4.2.x)
- Press the menu button
- Touch [Settings] - touch [Wireless controls]- touch [Wi-Fi settings]
- A list of available wireless networks will show up. Touch [eduroam]
- Touch [EAP Type] - select PEAP - choose sub-type PEAPv0/MSCHAPv2
- In Username field, fill in your KTH.SE name including @kth.se (e.g. nisse@kth.se)
- In Password field, fill in your network secret you retreived from here
- Touch [Connect] - After a few moments you should be connected to eduroam
Check also this contribution from a user: HTC Wildfire/Desire mini/Desire guide
Please Note!! You need at least Android 2.1 for the Sony Ericsson Xperia to work on eduroam.
Windows Phone 7 - seems to work directly
Sony Ericsson Satio™ - Go to "Menu -> Settings -> Connectivity -> Destinations -> Access Point". Then it's very similar to Nokia S60 (see below). Also see the user manual.
Windows Mobile problematic - there are reports you can get it to work by switching Power Mode to Best Performance instead of Best Battery.
Nokia series 60 3rd Ed. - works ok, see: guide (e.g N95,E90,E65,E51,N81...) 5th Ed. also works (5800 etc) NOTE from a user of S60v5:Set "security mode" to wpa/wpa2, "realm in use" to "user defined" and "empty", set allow peapv0, 1 och 2 to yes. If you have problems
try to add the cert at
this place
Sony Ericsson UIQ-phones (P1i,P990i) - we have not found a good method. G900 has been seen to work though.
Nokia N9 (meego) - se this guide
We will provide more detailed guides as we learn more.
